Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. ElderBirch Consulting & Services keeps them to a minimum: we use no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, and we do not use social media tracking pixels.
1. Cookies we set
| Name | What it does | Type | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
eb_session |
Keeps you logged in, protects every form against forged submissions, and remembers what you typed and any message to show after a form is sent. | Strictly necessary · first-party · HttpOnly | Until you close your browser. The session itself ends after 2 hours of inactivity. |
eb_lite |
Remembers that you switched on Data saver, which hides decorative photos to save mobile data. Only set if you choose Data saver. | Preference · first-party | One year, or until you switch Data saver off or clear your cookies. |
Because these cookies are needed for the website to work or only remember a choice you made, we do not ask for consent before setting them.
2. Similar technology
The job seeker registration form remembers which step you were on using your browser's session storage, so a page refresh does not send you back to the start. It never leaves your device and is cleared when you close the tab.
3. Third parties
- PayFast. When an employer pays, the payment takes place on PayFast's own pages, where PayFast's cookies and privacy policy apply.
- WhatsApp and Facebook. We link to them, but nothing from them loads on our pages until you click a link.
4. Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block eb_session, you will not be able to log in or send forms on this website. Clearing cookies logs you out and switches Data saver off.
5. Changes
If we ever add analytics or other non-essential cookies, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Read more about how we use personal information in our privacy policy.
